Siobhán Doyle [violin]

Siobhán Doyle was born in Dublin and began playing the violin at an early age. A multiple-prize winner in national competitions, Siobhán was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Royal Northern College of Music. She completed her Bachelors degree with Leland Chen and was awarded the Roger Raphael Prize. Siobhán recently performed as a soloist in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with the European Union Youth Orchestra. Passionate about chamber music, Siobhán has performed at festivals such as the West Cork Chamber Music Festival, Clandeboye Festival, Aurora Festival, Ortús Chamber Music Festival and the Cowbridge Music Festival. She is a founding member of the Lir Quartet, with whom she has performed extensively throughout Ireland A member of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra since 2019, Siobhán also regularly plays with ensembles such as the London Symphony Orchestra and Irish Chamber Orchestra, touring extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Alexei Grynyuk [piano]

“Grynyuk takes his place among the finest” by Gramophone. Alexei Grynyuk performs throughout the world appearing in the most prestigious concert halls and music festivals. He has performed recitals at the Verbier Music Festival in Switzerland, Newport Music Festival in USA, “Musical Kremlin” Festival in Moscow, Duszniki Chopin Festival in Poland, International Keyboard Festival in New York among many others. The venues include Wigmore Hall and the South Bank Centre in London, Salle Cortot and Salle Gaveau in Paris, Great Hall of Moscow Conservatoire. Being a passionate chamber musician, Alexei Grynyuk is part of a piano trio with his regular partners, violinist Nicola Benedetti and cellist Leonard Elschenbroich. Described by The Telegraph as “A trio of True Stars” together they have toured the world extensively in the past decade performing at the Royal  Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Royal Albert Hall London, Birmingham Symphony Hall, LSO St. Luke’s, Frankfurt Alte Oper, 92Y New York, Gardner Museum Boston as well as festival appearances at BBC Proms, Ravinia, Gergiev, Istanbul, Cheltenham and Edinburgh International.


About West Cork Chamber Music Festival

 

The West Cork Chamber Music Festival takes place annually in Bantry, County Cork. For ten days, from the last Friday in June, a world-class line-up of international ensembles and soloists perform an extensive programme of concerts which run from morning to late night. The two main venues are the intimate library of the historic Bantry House, which overlooks Bantry Bay; and St Brendan’s Church in the centre of Bantry. The Festival also includes a full schedule of performance workshops and masterclasses with resident student ensembles, composition workshops, public talks with artists as well as exhibitions and demonstrations from instrument makers.
